BHüe Cosmetic Pencil Set Review + Swatches

I recently became acquainted with BHüe, an affordable indie makeup brand that strives to accommodate every skin tone, style, and mood throughout their entire cosmetics line, including their foundation, liquid matte lipstick, lip balm, and their newly released all-in-one pencil kit.

I was given the opportunity to review their brand spankin’ new 6-piece pencil kit (so new that it’s not even on their website yet!), and I was especially curious to see how versatile and “all-in-one” their pencils truly are.

The Kit includes 6 pencils (with artist tin case & sharpener):

• Wax Stay: Colorless wax to tame brow flyaways and line any lip color to prevent feathering (genius!)
• Shimmer Highlighter: Shimmery pencil to highlight under the brows, inner corner of eyes, cupid’s bow, etc.
• Dusty Pink: Baby pink hue liner that can be used on the inner eyes and as a liner for a pink lip
• Cafe au lait: A mild brown pencil for lining eyes, blonde brows, or a nude lip
• Universal Taupe: Taupe brown shade for almost any brow; can also be used on lower lashes for soft definition
• Basic Black: A rich black liner for browns and eyes

Ok, fist thing’s first (I’m a realist), let’s talk formula. There have been so many times that vegan liners, especially those that lean on the greener end of the spectrum, have broken my heart… I’m talkin’ about those non-smooth, painful to apply ones that sometimes pop up in monthly subby boxes. They’ve made me so scared, that when I see an eye pencil, I immediately look away, lol. Needless to say, I was hella skeptical about these pencils, but luckily I was pleasantly surprised. They’re actually quite lovely – creamy, easy to apply, and the neutral shades are beautiful and truly are multitasking.

Can I just say, I have never ever thought to use a clear lip liner! I’m so stoked on this because I’m always looking to match my liners with my lippies and it’s damn near impossible. This is going to get so much use, I can’t even begin to tell you.

The highlighter is so on point. It takes a teensier bit long to shade in the brow ear, but it works like a charm for the inner corner of the eyes.

I’ve been using Universal Taupe on my brows daily, and I luuuuurve it!

And the black liner is like, duh-style love at first swipe. Yeah, I’m definitely into this pencil kit. I also really like the ingredients – the pencils are made with ceresin, carnauba and Japanese waxes (vegan alternatives to beeswax), and nourishing castor oil, shea butter, and cocoa seed butter.

I’m super duper looking forward to trying out more vegan makeup from BHüe. 🙂
